VARNA, BULGARIA – BATUMI, GEORGIA 2011
In 2011 I did my first project on a cargo vessel that went across the Black Sea from Varna, Bulgaria to Batumi, Georgia. The journey was part of the project Fluid Ground – A symposium on board of a cargo ship across the Black Sea, with support of the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung. I asked the seafarers to write down their daily work on a canvas I brought – the canvas worked as platform to connect the group of visitors with the seafarers in a vivid exchange of stories, experiences and dances.
